Sidney Miller Art Group
Sidney Miller Court is a Notting Hill Genesis sheltered scheme in Acton for older people. The resident art group is a self-led, started in 2004 by Geeta Kapoor, a resident artist, after she completed a large mural in the communal lounge area.
People from many cultures and backgrounds come together each week to paint, draw and socialize. As well as learning new creative skills, the group has become life affirming for many people.
Everyone is very excited about participating in the Unlocked exhibition, which is proving a perfect catalyst to bring people back to a sense of normality.
Prior to the pandemic the group used to be 16 strong, but these numbers dropped off considerably during the isolation needed, and people are only just beginning to come back.
